With so much attention focused on social media platforms, is a retargeting restaurant websites still necessary?

According to knowledgeable sources, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’ since an effective website can attract new customers and encourage return visitors. Simply stated, a restaurant website is an important component of an online presence and should include a number of key elements designed for easy navigation and searchability by categories, subcategories, and item descriptors. Recent studies highlight the importance of maintaining a well-designed, informative, and engaging website, especially when the website is programmed for retargeting. In retargeting, website pages are displayed on independent social media platforms as pop-up ads designed to reach users who have previously visited the restaurant’s website. Through retargeting, tracking pixels embedded on the restaurant’s website create opportunities for follow-up elsewhere on social media. The objective being to convert former site visitors into active customers.
