b'As partners, the National Restaurant Association and the International Food and Beverage Technology Association (IFBTA) worked together to foster an industry discussion on Supply Chain and Data. The Industry Leadership of the Restaurant Association coupled with the Technology Thought Leadership of the IFBTA, brings together a unique perspective and complete view of the subjects providing take-home value for the operators in our industry. This is enabled by the underlying technologies from within and outside the industry that results in increased efficiency while meeting guest demands during these challenging times to the foodservice and hospitality industries. This report is a synopsis of the presentations made by our panel of operators and additional insight from the breakout room conversations between the attendees.Additional insights were provided by Fortinet; our Gatherings Title Sponsor, and Cognizant; our Data Platinum Partner through their participation in the discussions and in this report. Whether you were able to attend the sessions or not, the discussions, open input and findings that came from the live sharing of ideas, make a big difference in how the industry views these important subjects. The various member communities of the two associations in Supply Chain, Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Information Technology and Marketing, ensured that these subjects were considered from all angles, including forward-thinking considerations on how the challenges of today become the opportunities of tomorrow.New methods, process, technologies and ways of doing business are all brought together and one of the learnings was that of how the acceleration of technologies that were previously on-hold, came to the forefront to allow rapid change. And while these changes may have been short-term reactions to the immediate challenges of the businesses in order to survive and ensure the safety of our staff and guests alike, the longer term implications are enormous as they bring together all aspects of operations and connect the suppliers and all other partners in the community in a way that was not possible before. We are one industry with a common focus, that has many stakeholders and partners in serving the guest. Through discussions such as these Gatherings, we know that the foodservice and hospitality industries of which the National Restaurant Association and the IFBTA serve, will have a great future with increased opportunities and new ways of doing business that we may not have thought possible before. We gathered to help ensure that what seemed impossible, would become possible.
